The Poppy's Warning
By Elizabeth Broderick
Can you hear the people dying
Can you feel their family's crying
Can you understand their pain
A feel of loss instead of gain
Can you see the empty spaces
Can you smell the bodies wasted
But the battle still commences
And the world is so defenceless
You send your brothers out there
And live without a small care
They all fight with their lives
So that you all may survive
We poppy's show the past-times
Of lives gone in the blast line
But you do not heed our warning
And your battles keep on forming
Can you hear the People dying
Can you feel their family's crying
You could stop it if you tried
No more need to die.
