Spring's first flower
By Patrick Cusick McKay Jr.
The Early Dawn
Welcomes the Horison
With the red-orange Sun
Peaking over the frosted grassy plain
A beam of light
Strikes the surface
Like it never will
Ever again
It slowly approaches
The early morning's dew
As the sky slowly turns
From navy to baby blue
Slowly appears
A lonely bud
From the morning's shadows
Arising from the grassy mud
It slowly blossoms
With full power
Behold at last
The Spring's First Flower
